7 new points on iOS but 'old' on Android
iPhone has a series of new features such as displaying subtitles, Always-on Display, which is familiar to Android users.
iOS 16 was introduced by Apple at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. The operating system will be officially released with the iPhone 14 on September 12. The new operating system has many upgrades with new features such as Live Caption, widget lock screen... iOS 16 is only supported from iPhone 8 onwards.
Subtitles feature
Subtitles appear at the top of the screen.
The Live Captions feature on iOS 16 allows live translation of chat, audio and video in real time. Subtitles appear at the top of the screen when audio is playing in real time, and users can also customize the font size of the subtitles to suit their needs.
This feature was available on Android in 2019 and is supporting multiple languages. Although the level of accuracy is not high, the feature is useful for people who are hearing impaired, or need a quick translation from a language they are not fluent in into their mother tongue.
Widget lock screen
This new feature on iPhone is inspired by Apple Watch, allowing to track information such as weather, battery level, alarm, time zone ... for users to personalize, change the interface according to their preferences. In addition, Apple also added many themed wallpapers such as weather, astronomy, etc.
This feature has been around since 2012 in Android 4.2 version. By Android 5.0, Google almost eliminated this feature. Android users can now experience it through Samsung's OneUI interface.

Keyboard vibration feedback
Previously, iPhone models often did not have vibration feedback on the keyboard. With iOS 16, Apple added haptic feedback to the virtual keyboard. When touching the keyboard, the machine will vibrate slightly to notify the successful input of characters.
On Android, this feature has long been available by default, while iPhone users will have to enable it before using it.
Share photo gallery
The Shared Photo Library feature allows sharing photos to iCloud accounts with family and friends of up to 6 people. Users can automatically upload photos from their device, add or remove photos... and they will automatically appear in the Memories or Featured Photos section of each user in the group that has access.
The photo sharing feature has been around for a long time on Google Photos. In addition, Google Photos also allows adding photos to each individual album through facial recognition as well as the location of each photo.
Always-on Display
The new Always-on Display screen mechanism appears on the two most advanced iPhone models, 14 Pro and Pro Max. Meanwhile, Android users have been able to experience this since 2012. On the iPhone, however, the icons have an intuitive and interactive interface, and the wallpaper on the home screen is kept, instead of. must set wallpaper for home screen and lock screen separately like Android.
Always-on Display on iPhone 14 Pro still displays a watermark instead of completely black like Android phones.
High resolution camera and pixel binning feature
Apple first equipped cameras with up to 48 megapixels for two iPhone Pro models and used an algorithm to combine four pixels into one to form a 12-megapixel image. This results in better low-light photos as well as more details.
Android smartphone companies like Samsung, Oppo, Xiaomi, Huawei... have been equipped with high-resolution sensors and pixel binning algorithms for a long time. Even in 2012, the Nokia 808 PureView was the first smartphone to use this technology.
Phone Fitness App
Previously, iPhone users without an Apple Watch would not be able to use the Apple Fitness Plus app. On iOS 16, users can use this application to estimate basic parameters such as steps, calories burned, etc.
As for Android smartphones, the Google Fit application is pre-installed and allows users to use it to calculate basic parameters except heart rate, SpO2 ... even if the user does not have a smartwatch.
